He may be the best man, but he’s the worst man for her…
Wedding planner, Veronica Soto-Stewart believes everyone deserves a fairy tale–even her ex-boyfriend. Unable to refuse his request, and with the help of Bliss Events motley crew, she finds herself creating the most magical event for the perfect couple.
But nothing is ever perfect…
And not all happy ever afters can be planned…
Levi Laurent can’t believe his luck. Thanks to his best friend’s wedding, he finally has a shot at the woman he’s always wanted–Veronica. From San Francisco to Paris, and back, he pulls out all the stops, so she knows where she really belongs–with him. But Veronica wants nothing to do with the rich, sexy, irresistible playboy.
Can Levi convince Veronica that her perfect happily ever after is closer than she ever realized?
Confessions of a Wedding Planner was such a fantastic and light-hearted novel! It begins with Veronica meeting her ex-boyfriend Jake for lunch, hoping that he wants to get back together. However, she quickly learns he’s engaged to the woman that he dumped Veronica for and they want her to be their wedding planner. Besides having to plan the man of her dreams’ wedding to someone else, she also has to be around and tolerate Jake’s best friend and best man, Levi. Veronica has never liked him, dismissing him as a sleazy player, but little does she know, Levi feels very differently about her.
Veronica was such a sweet and likable character, although at times, way too presumptuous. Her best friend and business partner, Chase, teases Veronica about not having a backbone and needing to learn to say “no,” but Veronica is a very kind-hearted person. The first impression of Levi isn’t the best, simply because of the historical information Veronica provides about why she doesn’t like him. However, it’s impossible not to quickly fall in love with Levi very early on and that love keeps growing through the rest of the novel. He’s handsome, sexy, wealthy, French, and very romantic 🙂 Veronica bounces back and forth between totally swooning over Levi to jumping to conclusions about things causing tension between them, which was frustrating but also made sense. I initially loved Jake and his fiance, but as the novel went on, Jake has some annoying moments. Veronica and Levi were absolutely the best characters and I was cheering for them to get together throughout the novel 🙂
Confessions of a Wedding Planner presents the overall theme of not judging a book by a cover and also not being quick to judge a situation. Poor Veronica causes herself so much heartache and stress in throughout the story because of what she thinks she sees, hears or knows. This is especially true with Levi as she repeatedly makes assumptions about him and other characters. The book is also a reminder that everything happens for a reason and sometimes the most seemingly perfect person may not be the right person at all. Veronica is so devastated when Jake breaks up with her and then later announces his plans to marry, however, it is quickly evident that Jake was never the right man for her anyway.
If you have not yet checked out author Michelle Jo Quinn, then you are missing out! This novel was fast-paced, romantic and funny with amazing characters. After reading it leaves you with a warm, fuzzy feeling, although I hated to see the story end. I eagerly look forward to reading more from this fantastic author in the future!
